Mother Nature exerts therapeutic effects. Everybody is aware of this fast. No one would argue that we feel much better and relief after spending time outdoors while being surrounded with trees, staying by the sea, lake, mountains, etc.

There is one place in Croatia, which you can name a true healing oasis, where you’re in a parallel world without hurrying and bustling. It is Krka National Park, a pride of this little and beautiful Balkan state.

Charterers often pay a visit to the park after learning how gorgeous, clean, unspoilt and amazing it is. In our everyday life there aren’t usually many sites around with so much greenery, waterfalls, birds singing, a possibility to swim in emerald river waters. It is the right spot to relax one’s body and mind.

All you need to do once inside the park is not to hurry, discover and embrace its beauty. One is guaranteed for sure: a trip to Krka National Park will remind you a Disney fairy tale, and you’ll feel being its hero while watching crystal-clear waters of the river, little lakes and ponds full of interesting fish species, lilies, tree roots, intertwisted with each other.

Krka National Park has a spectacular backdrop for a wonderful adventure. According to various sources of information and some official interviews with the cast, some of the landscapes of “Game of Thrones” Seven Kingdoms were filmed here and appeared in the fourth season.

Krka National Park is named after the river Krka and lies inland just approximately 10 kilometers from Sibenik, a popular yacht charter destination. It is even closer to the park if you sail with a yacht to Srkadin, where in order to get to the park, you’ll take a small boat ride leaving your charter yacht for a while.

Total area of Krka National Park is about 140 square kilometers. The most famous and a must to see here are wonderful waterfalls of Skradinski Buk and Roski Slap with their travertine cascades, several museums and monasteries, ethno presentations. Be ready to feel amazed with the color of river waters. They have such fusion of lush green and aquamarine with inclusion of white – a result of restless water stream. Only this palette itself already brings delight.

Krka National Park isn’t only flora. Yes, it is a home to lush, unspoilt forests and hiking trails, but also it features various animal and bird life. During a visit, you surely may encounter snipes, warblers, ducks, geese, sandpipers, herons, falcons, owls and eagles.

Apart from flora and fauna beauty, there are few little houses and mills as a part of ethno presentation preserved and restored to show visitors everyday life of the past. After exploring the waterfalls and perhaps even swimming near one, take an excursion to Visovac island. It’s a tiny piece of land hosting a beautiful monastery. Small boat trip will last for about 30 minutes, but it’s totally worth it.

Lozovac entrance is one of the most popular among visitors. The park area here has a lot to demonstrate and features plenty of sites from which you have stunning views. There are several “panoramic spots” just next to the café and ethno museum. A bit further, after following the road you’ll see a big open air area, which offers “post card” views at the river and its cascading waterfalls. When you follow the narrow path inside the “jungle” of the river, watch for the signs. There will be one indicating that there’s one more panoramic view spot waiting for you.

The sound of water in the park will drown out all unnecessary thoughts in the minds of those who wander around Krka National Park. Walking down wooden paths, one can’t get enough of idyllic scenery compose of fairy-tale like moss, butterflies and dragonflies playing with water and flying over its noisy surface.

Remember, even though under tree shadow inside the park it feels quite refreshing, it still may be quite hot here. Don’t forget to bring along a hat with you to cover your head and a bathing suit in case you feel like swimming.

One important notice for those willing to visit the park entering the Srkadinski buk section: the administration of the park has put a limit of a maximum of 10,000 visitors at a time. Otherwise, people will be offered to visit other areas of the park. Please make sure to buy a ticket in advance to avoid any inconveniences for yourself. Skradisnki buk entrance is one of the most popular with huge natural river pool where you can swim and watch waterfalls. Skradinski buk waterfall is the longest waterfall of Krka National Park.

Get ready for a beautiful adventure in Krka National Park while sailing along gorgeous coast of Croatia.
